Cardiovascular response to whole-body cold exposure in humans with different initial autonomic tone

چکیده

Relevance. Cold exposure increases sympathetic activity and blood pressure. It can also promote intensification of hypertension symptoms its progress in winter. However, the mechanisms this phenomenon are poorly understood. Intention: To determine dynamics cardiovascular parameters young people with different initial autonomic regulation heart rate during experimental general cold exposure. Methodology. 30 healthy male volunteers aged 18–20 years were examined. In accordance type rate, all subjects divided into 3 groups as follows: predominance vagotonia (Group I, n = 9), optimal – normotonia II, 14), sympathicotonia III, 7). The experiment included three stages: rest at a temperature (+20 0C); to (–20 0C) for 10 minutes; warming body 0C). variability (HRV) was recorded each stage study using portable complex “Varicard 2.8” (Russia). At same time, pressure ear canal recorded. Results Discussion . Moderate short-term air cooling causes generally temporary reactions central hemodynamics (increase pressure) indicators total HRV power an increase parasympathetic activity. Baseline dynamic values stress index Group III significantly higher than Groups I II. During cooling, individuals from 4 times lower, 1.5 lower before cooling. baroreflex less pronounced (slightly decreased HRV) along significant pressure, thus suggesting high risk cold-associated vessel injuries. II maintained (significant decrease SI) response Conclusion. Apparently, moderate does not disturb protective system residents North predomination sympathicotonia. week Northerners be considered developing arterial hypertension.

Head Exposure to Cold during Whole-Body Cryostimulation: Influence on Thermal Response and Autonomic Modulation

Recent research on whole-body cryotherapy has hypothesized a major responsibility of head cooling in the physiological changes classically reported after a cryostimulation session. The aim of this experiment was to verify this hypothesis by studying the influence of exposing the head to cold during whole-body cryostimulation sessions, on the thermal response and the autonomic nervous system (AN...

Cardiovascular responses to cold exposure.

The prevalence of hypertension is increased in winter and in cold regions of the world. Cold temperatures make hypertension worse and trigger cardiovascular complications (stroke, myocardial infarction, heart failure, etc.). Chronic or intermittent exposure to cold causes hypertension and cardiac hypertrophy in animals. The purpose of this review is to provide the recent advances in the mechani...

Rat Lung Response to PM2.5 Exposure under Different Cold Stresses

Ambient particulate matters and temperature were reported to have additive effects over the respiratory disease hospital admissions and deaths. The purpose of this study is to discuss the interactive pulmonary toxicities of cold stress and fine particulate matter (PM2.5) exposure by estimating inflammation and oxidative stress responses. 48 Wistar male rats, matched by weight and age, were rand...

Exposure to whole body vibration in heavy mine vehicle drivers and its association with upper limbs musculoskeletal disorders

Background: Vibration as one of the harmful physical factors is relatively present in a wide range of jobs. Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are among the most prevailing complaints of workers encountering occupational factors for example vibration. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate vibration and its association with the MSDs in upper limbs of heavy mine vehicles drivers. Ma...

Cortical regions associated with autonomic cardiovascular regulation during lower body negative pressure in humans.

The purpose of the present study was to determine the cortical structures involved with integrated baroreceptor-mediated modulation of autonomic cardiovascular function in conscious humans independent of changes in arterial blood pressure. We assessed the brain regions associated with lower body negative pressure (LBNP)-induced baroreflex control using functional magnetic resonance imaging with...
